Test Cards

Overview:  

This article is intended to be a guide highlighting the new features and changes to the Test Cards in addition to providing insight into the different options available as well as their components and functionality in ESGI.

Features of All Test Cards: 

  • Font sizes are larger and bolder for improved readability.
    • Test titles are displayed on a white background for clear contrast and accessibility.
    • Hover over test titles to view the full test name.
    • Larger text is used for percentage metrics, ratio scores, and raw score data.
  • Test cards use brighter default colors aligned with ESGI color themes.
    • If you own a test, you can still choose a custom color.
    • Color contrast and text visibility meet accessibility standards.
  • Larger and more prominent pie charts, circle graphs, and rubric icons are displayed.
  • Simplified icons and updated fonts improve clarity across all test cards.
  • New bar on the Class and Group views indicates how many students have been administered this test in selected class or group.

Test History and Session Details:

  • Test History and Session Details are available directly on the Small (default), Medium, and Large Test Card Views.
    • If you are on the X-Small Test Card View, you will have to first select the three dots icon at the bottom left of a Test Card (see Image 1) in order to see and select Test History or Last Session Details.
  • Clicking Test History opens the test’s historical performance report.
  • Clicking Session Details opens the Last Session Details window where you can:
    • View the most-recent Test Session.
    • Delete, Duplicate, or Download Test Session Details.
    • View detailed results of the entire Test Session.
    • Edit the Test Session's Date, Time, Duration, and/ or Scoring for each question, as well as add item‑specific Comments or an overall Summary Note for the Test Session.
      • Note: Only the Teacher who originally administered the specific Test Session can make edits to that Test Session.
    • Run a Subset Test.
    • View Test History, run the Parent Letter, or generate Flashcards.
  • To manually add a new test session, you can click on the three dots icon at the bottom left of a Test Card to access More Actions (see Image 1) and select + Add New Session, or you can access the Test Dashboard by clicking on the Test Card, scrolling to the Sessions section, and clicking ADD SESSSION.

Additional Actions:

  • Additional actions can be accessed by clicking the three dots icon at the bottom left of a Test Card (see Image 1).
  • Available options include:
    • Add New Session - Opens the New Session modal which allows you to add and save a new test session.
    • View Test - Opens the Test Details modal on top of the homepage.
    • Move - Allows you to move the test to another Subject Tab if you have the right permissions.
    • Remove - Removes the test from the current Subject Tab.
    • Test History and Last Session Details options are also available (X-Small Test Card view only).
  • You can access the Test Dashboard by clicking anywhere on a Test Card.

Single Student Selection: 

  • When a single student is selected, the student’s name displays at the top of the homepage.
  • Clicking the button to the right of the student’s name opens the Student Profile.
  • You can administer a test to the selected student by clicking the blue TEST button on the Test Card (see Image 1).
  • Self‑Assess tests can be launched by clicking the Self‑Assess icon (which will no longer be grayed out) when available. 

Test Card Types:

ESGI provides multiple Test Card types so you can customize how test information is displayed on your homepage.

The Small Test Card is the default view, as it displays key actions directly on the card. More compact or expanded views are available depending on your preference. You can change Test Card Types by clicking on the corresponding icon (see Image 1)

    Note: All Test Card types provide access to the same actions; the difference is how much information is visible at once

    Filtering the Test Cards

    • You can filter which Test Cards are displayed by clicking the Test Type buttons located above the Test Cards (see Image 1).
      • The Test Types include: 
        • All (default) 
        • Yes/No (Y-N)
        • Rubric (R)
        • Single Score (SS
            • You can also filter by whether a test has been taken by clicking on the dropdown menu located next to the Test Type filter buttons. 
              • The options here include: 
                • Any (default) 
                • Tested
                • Not Tested (NT)
              • This filter is especially helpful for trying to see if there are any tests which a student hasn’t taken yet. 

                    Sorting the Test Cards: 

                    • You can sort the order of the Test Cards by clicking on the Sort By dropdown menu located to the right of the different Test Card type icons (see Image 1). 
                      • The Sort By options include: 
                        • Default
                        • Test Name
                        • Last Tested
                        • Content Area
                        • Number of Questions 
                        • Students Tested Percentage (Class / Group view only)

                                Rearranging the Test Cards

                                  You can manually reorder Test Cards directly from the homepage by doing the following:

                                  1. Hover over the three dots icon at the top center of a Test Card (see Image 1) until you see a visual highlight and the “Rearrange” tooltip.
                                   
                                  2.  Click and drag the Test Card to the desired position.
                                   
                                  3. Drop the Test Card to place it in its new order.

                                  Note:

                                  • No Reorder button is required.
                                  • No Save button is required.
                                  • The new order is saved automatically and remains the same when you log out and back in.
