Subject Tab Manager
Overview:
The Subject Tab Manager is a tool that ESGI District and School Administrators can use in order to create, edit, and share School/District Managed Subject Tabs which can be used by your entire school or district. In this article, you will learn how to use the Subject Tab Manager in order to create and edit your own School/District Managed Subject Tabs as well as how to share and unshare them with the teachers and specialists within your school or district.
To Create a Subject Tab:
1. Log into your ESGI District or School Admin Account and click on Subject Tabs located on the left side of the screen.
2. Select District (or S for School admins) located at the top of the Subject Tab Manager panel.
3. Click on the "Add Subject Tab button, which is indicated by a '+'. Ensure that the Active option is selected and enter the desired name for your subject tab in the field to the right of the Active option.
4. Select the Retest Modes Option, then select from the available options of Retest Modes (See Image 1). You will also have the option to utilize the functionality for Shuffling Questions, should you wish to do so.
5. Configure the Publish Options. These options include the Publish Period and Grade Level.
6A. When the Publish Period dropdown is selected, you have the ability to choose from three options: Period, Date Range, or Indefinitely.
- If you select the Period option, you can further choose between Current School Year or Marking Period. Should you choose Marking Period, your configured Marking Periods will be displayed accordingly.
- The Date Range feature provides a calendar view, or you may input the dates above the calendar.
6B. Selecting the Grade Level from the Publish Options will open up a menu on the right side of the screen with all of your grade options. Here, you may either select all grades (located above the grade options) or choose specific grades from the list that appears in the menu.
Please note: By default, all of your Grade Levels will be selected. If you don't want to include a grade level, please deselect it by clicking on that Grade Level. Your selected Grade Levels will be highlighted in blue.
7. Select whether or not you would like to have this Subject Tab published for your teachers by checking the Publish For Teachers checkbox (See Image 1). You have the option to either publish for All teachers or By School (District Admins only).
8. Select whether or not you would like to have this Subject Tab published for your specialists by checking the Publish For Specialists checkbox. You have the option to publish for All, By School (District Admins only), or By Specialist.
9. Click on the Add Tests button located under the Subject Tab Tests column on the right of the screen to go to the Add Tests screen and begin adding tests to your subject tab.
10. Utilize the filters located at the top, under "Description," to locate your desired tests, then check the box next to each test you want to add (See Image 2). When you are finished adding your desired tests, exit the Add Tests screen by clicking on the X button at the top right.
11. The added tests will now be displayed on your Subject Tab, including the test name, test type and color. Remove any test(s) that you don't want by clicking on the X located to the right of the test name.
12. You can also click the + icon in the upper right corner of your Subject Tab Tests to add additional tests to your Subject Tab. You can also reorder the tests by utilizing the arrows icon.
13. After adding and rearranging your tests to your desired order, click the Add button located at the top center of the screen to finalize your Subject Tab (See Image 1).
14. The Subject Tab has now been successfully incorporated into your collection of other Subject Tabs and will appear in the Subject Tab Manager section. It will automatically be selected as the initial tab displayed upon its addition.
To Deactivate a Subject Tab:
1. Log into your ESGI District or School Admin Account and click on Subject Tabs located on the left side column of the screen.
2. Navigate through the Subject Tab Manager and click on the Subject Tab that you would like to deactivate.
3. Unselect the Active checkbox located to the left of the Tab Name. This will cause a hidden eye icon to appear next to the Subject Tab that you have chosen to deactivate (see Image 1).
