A: With a district-wide purchase of 20 or more teacher licenses, districts have the option to import teacher and student rostering data into ESGI via Clever or ClassLink. Importing is done at the district level and cannot be done by schools or individuals. Importing is an optional benefit and not required for a great experience with ESGI.
Q: If my district imports, will I get an Activation Code?
A: Each teacher's account expiration is automatically extended via the import and an Activation Code is not used. If you already have a teacher account, you can access it as usual. If you are new to ESGI, and are included in the district’s import, an account will be created and extended by the import; you will receive a welcome email with a registration link. Unfortunately, these emails often go to spam. If you did not receive one, please enter your email address in the Forgot Password link.
Q: What if I already had an ESGI teacher account before the import?
A: The import should keep the same username you were using previously. If you have trouble accessing your account, please contact us at importing@esgisoftware.com and we will be happy to assist.
Q: I can't log in. Help!
A: To find out your username or reset your password, please go to the ESGI login page and click on Forgot Password If you need additional help, please contact importing@esgisoftware.com.
Q: I got an "account is deactivated" error message. What do I do?
A: Please contact us at importing@esgisoftware.com and we will be happy to assist.
Q: I got a message that the "current school year is not active in my account." What do I do?
A: Please contact your district first regarding your access. If needed, please email us at importing@esgisoftware.com and we will be happy to assist.
Q: Some teachers and students are missing. How do I add them?
A: Teachers and students are included in the import files that are provided by your district. If anything is missing, please contact us at importing@esgisoftware.com and we will be happy to assist.
Q: What if there is a teacher change after the start of the school year?
A: When your district updates this teacher change in the import file, an account will be automatically created for the new teacher and move the students and their data over to the new class; the new teacher will need the same assessments on their Home Screen in order to see any previous data that was collected.
Q: I am a District Administrator. Can I add a teacher?
A: District Administrators cannot add teachers to ESGI. If your district imports rostering data, and a homeroom teacher with their own roster of students is added to the import by your district, the import will activate a teacher account.
Q: Why don't I have an "add" button? I can't add students to my class.
A: Your district imports rostering data, which will automatically update your class roster in your account.
Q: I am missing students.
A: If your district imports rostering data nightly, the students should appear the following day. If students are still missing, please contact importing@esgisoftware.com and provide the student names.
Q: How do I add a student in my account that is also in another teacher's account?
A: Students can only be in one teacher's account, which is determined by the import we have set up with your district.
Q: I have AM and PM classes but all the students are in the same class. How do I separate them?
A: Create groups. The import will not affect the groups you create.
