Adding Demographic Information for Students

How to Manually Add Student Demographic Data 

Overview

Adding demographic information for students in ESGI can be done by districts through the importing process, covered in this article. Individual users can also add student demographics by accessing each student’s profile.

From the Homepage: 

  1. Click on the expand icon (to the right of All Students) in the Students dropdown menu in the upper left corner of the page. Skip this step if the dropdown is already pinned to the homepage. 
  2. To open an individual student’s profile, click the profile icon to the right of the student’s name. 
  3. In the Student Profile modal on the right, enter the student’s information for each of the three tabs displayed (Image 1): 
    • Profile: Includes personal student details such as name and date of birth 
    • Location: Includes class and group assignments 
    • Information: Includes race/ethnicity, lunch status, and special programs 

     4. Click Save in the upper right corner when finished. 

From Student Manager: 

  1. Click the Student Manager icon in the left navigation panel. 
  2. Locate the student for which you would like to edit the profile. 
  3. Click the profile icon on the right side of the page for the student to open the Student Profile modal (Image 2). 
  4. In the Student Profile modal on the right, enter the student’s information for each of the three tabs displayed (Image 1): 
    • Profile: Includes personal student details such as name and date of birth 
    • Location: Includes class and group assignments 
    • Information: Includes race/ethnicity, lunch status, and special programs 
    • Click Save in the upper right corner when finished. 

     5.   Click Save in the upper right corner when finished.
